Greatly overpriced and disappointing

Rooms are definitely smaller and shabbier than what is shown on the website. Everything would need a good refurbishment (bedside lamps assembled with different pieces that don’t fit together, etc). Food at the buffet dinner very disappointing: grilled chicken wasn’t grilled, but kind of boiled and soaked in a BBQ-like sauce, vegetable rice inedible, sautéed vegetables tasted rancid. **Terrible experience. Poor service, old hotel in urgent need of renovation. Meals are poorly served with a significant lack of basic products. The buffet lacks variety and sufficient quantity. We spent two nights at the lodge. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Crocodile River. We were able to watch hippopotami from our balcony in the river and foraging on the bankside. What a fantastic stopover! We were route from Kruger and needed a stop over. I called in the morning and made a reservation telephonically. The gentleman was polite and helpful and when we arrived after six in the evening, they knew who we were without even having to tell them our name.
