This highly traditional hotel occupies a former hunting chalet and is nestled amidst the hilly landscape overlooking Funchal, only 15 minutes from the centre with the sea, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and many different shopping venues. Public transport departs from stops located just steps away. Situated at the heart of the famous and original gardens of Palheiro, the hotel offers direct access to Palheiro golf course. The airport is about 15 km from the hotel.
The resort was built in 1804 and renovated in 2022. 38 rooms are available to guests in a 3-storey main building and 2 auxiliary buildings. The multilingual staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon, spa treatments, anti-ageing treatments, a solarium, cellulite treatment and a reflexology massage and, for an additional fee, massage treatments and Ayurveda treatments.
Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. A cosy atmosphere and delicious food await guests in 2 non-smoking restaurants (high chairs are available). Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals, gluten-free meals and vegetarian dishes on the table will delight guests' palates. For an extra charge, the chefs will also prepare children's meals, organic food, halal food and kosher food. In addition, picnics and snacks are available. For a fee, there are also non-alcoholic beverages and alcoholic beverages.
