The Farol is perfectly positioned about 10 minutes walk from Cascais Town, with a beautiful park on one side and the majestic Atlantic on the other. My room was in the basement, with a terrace facing onto the sea and a little inlet - lulled to sleep every night by the sound of the waves. The food was really good and the staff and service were great too. I had been worried about booking this hotel based on some prior reviews-but it was fantastic! They have slowly been updating and doing some touch up which looks beautiful & hopefully will be continued! Yes the hotel is quirky-but in a good way! Staff was so helpful-especially Nuno! Locale was so close to the historic central but far enough removed to be quiet too! Nice enough restaurant with a focus on sushi dishes. Food was very good however the service in a sparsely populated restaurant was quite slow. If they can improve on that front would happily return. This is a small boutique hotel with the best views in cascais. We had a twin room with a seaside view that was spectacular. We did not feel like we needed to upgrade to a suite with this room. Staff is very friendly and helpful.We felt like we were their only customers. Had breakfast included, which was very nice with a wide assortment of options.
