Nice place for one day trip

One hour far from Porto, Aveiro is a beautiful city, small one, perfect for a one day trip. We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is basic but that's fine for us. Breakfast next door is great. Location is perfect. The one thing we did not like is the noise. The hotel has thin walls and all wooden floors. First night we had a room next to the staircase. We could hear the last people get in and the first ones get up. Smack in the middle of the small town of Aveiro. It is not a high standard hotel but it did it's job. The room was pretty small but clean and we were happy to be on the first floor so we had a balcony overlooking the main square. The bathroom is a good size but no shelves to put your things on. This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was very pretty with a white and pale blue color scheme and a spacious, very modern bathroom and powerful shower. There were various free toiletries on arrival and if you used them up during your stay the cleaner noticed and left new bottles. Stayed at Aveiro City Lodge in winter Jan 2016. The apartment was very well located in the heart of Aveiro.
