    Great Hospitality and Value

    rating01 Sept 2024

Came here with my wife and two daughters on pilgrimage with a larger group. We stayed off and on for 12 days, between occasional trips out of town. In short, we loved this place. Why?The front desk agents couldn’t have been more hospitable, helping us fax documents to complete a business transaction; and helping us navigate our way to specialty shops in town. The rooms were nothing fancy (who needs it?) but whistle clean and comfortable. We slept well, whether we used the AC or the fresh night air to stay cool. The food was fairly uniform, but prepared well and served well. Breakfasts specifically exceeded our expectations and fueled us well until lunch. We were also delighted to have wine with every meal.Best of all, there was a pretty little chapel on site for quick and wonderfully quiet visits to pray. Can’t get more convenient than that! All this at a value price! You will love your stay here.

No frills gem of a hotel!

    rating29 May 2021

Absolutely loved staying at this hotel! Efficient, polite and helpful staff. Nice lobby area. Simply-furnished but clean and comfortable rooms that reflected the theme of pilgrimage in this town. I love the fact that they have a crucifix in every room! Everything worked well in the room and the beds were very comfortable! We had a room with a stunning view of the grounds and the sanctuary. The hotel is situated in a quiet area, far from the noisy pilgrims who, unfortunately, very frequently forget that this is a pilgrimage town! There was ample free public parking on the road outside the hotel and a hotel-owned private parking area just across the road. Walking through the hotel’s grounds and the picnic area of the sanctuary will lead you to the back part of the Basilica of the Rosary. It’s a short, pleasant walk - around 5 minutes. There are coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The buffet breakfast was standard continental fare. Nothing fanciful but plentiful. No hot dishes. Fresh fruits like apples, oranges and bananas were available. It was self-service which, to me, wasn’t ideal during this pandemic. The staff should be the ones serving the food to avoid many different hands handling the serving tongs/ladles. In addition, every time clients want more food, the food should be served on a clean, new plate. This is just to avoid the serving tongs/ladles from coming into contact with soiled plates and then being returned to the clean food dish. It prevents food contamination. A few other hotels in Fátima actually practise this at their buffets which is really a very hygienic practice! The restaurant area was large and tables well spaced-out. The hotel also provides half board and full board. Apart from breakfast, we didn’t have any other meal there so cannot comment on the quality of the food. We did, however, notice many Portuguese come for meals at the restaurant. Lunch or dinner costs €11/person.The best part of this hotel was the on-site beautiful chapel with the presence of the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament! Masses are said here every morning (7.45 a.m. on weekdays). It was such a bonus for us - to be able to start the day with Mass! Beautiful! The Masses are said in Portuguese and the ambience is so serene and spiritual with the community (priests, nuns and lay religious) present there that you feel at peace and one with God. In sum, this hotel is a good candidate for those wanting to conduct their own private retreat. It has a quiet, spiritual ambience and is very good value for money as breakfast is included in the room rate. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are looking for a peaceful stay. Excellent quality/price ratio!

Near the sanctuary, very clear, roomy and fresh hotel, with great food and even a small chapel if group needs it. All the necessities are there - bar, souvenir shop, restaurant, helpful staff, space for walking aroubd and parking place.

A hidden treasure for peace and joy

    rating05 Dec 2017

Casa Sao Nuno is an unassuming hotel that provides peaceful comforts and homely meals that add to the peace and spiritual healing for people who come to Fatima to experience the religious atmosphere of the city. The hotel has a beautiful chapel where mass is said very morning and rooms overlook the Sanctuary. Breakfast can be not only satisfying but also has a delightful view of the Sanctuary. The staff are ever willing to make your stay comfortable and provide all the information we would need to get around the town. Our stay was from Nov 18 to 21 was an unforgettable experience.

Lovely clean hotel just close to the Fatima church

    rating24 Aug 2017

We were six family members and we stayed at this hotel recently. NOTHING NEGATIVE to say about this lovely hotel. If you are on a pilgrimage this place is ideal as it is in walking distance to the church, set in beautiful grounds. Very clean, very good breakfast. We had dinner at this place one night and is was money well spent. The food was just delicious - try either the chicken or salmon both done to perfection. The meal cost less than 15 Euros and included a starter, salad, main meal, Wine!!!! mineral water and dessert. Enjoyed this place very much and i wish them well for the future. WI FI WORKS VERY WELL HERE AND IS FREE
