    Overall good but a few improvements needed.

    We stayed here for 1 night whilst walking the Camino. The room was a little dated but was clean and comfortable. The woman on reception when we checked in was a little frosty but the woman on reception when we checked out was absolutely lovely and cheerful! The food in the rest was excellent and very good value, and breakfast was also very good! There were quite a lot of children around the hotel but it was the school holidays, however lots of children in the restaurant didn’t help with a nice atmosphere in there!

    We had 2 nights here as part of our tour. We were a group of just 10 but there were other larger coach groups in at the same time, both days.The building is an old manor house and it's just on the edge of the little town which is easy to walk to but doesn't have much to offer.The hotel has a lot of pampering facilities.Our room was large and well appointed and although we were at the front opposite the main road it really wasn't busy or noisy and we slept well.We had half board and while our group wanted a 7.30 slot both evenings they tried to make us later to give priority to the bigger group....but we stood our ground and went in a 7.30!While the staff were all friendly enough and certainly did their best they are clearly understaffed when serving both breakfast and especially dinner. Dinner always took at least 2 hours and was somewhat confused at times!Having said that, we did enjoy our stay.

    We checked into the hotel mid afternoon and later tried to make a reservation for dinner for 2 people for 7.30. We were told that was not possible as the restaurant was full and we would have to go elsewhere in the town and there were plenty of places to eat. This was not the case and we could only find 1 restaurant.We felt let down by the hotel staff as it would have been helpful to have been advised on check in that a reservation was not possible at 7.30.Again the same issue was evident when we asked to book breakfast at 7.30 and was again told that wasnt possible until 8.30 as they had a big party in.We felt that during our visit there were insufficient staff to cater for the guests staying.

    Quiet refuge, great food!

    Located outside of Coimbra, this is a lovely hotel. The views over the countryside are beautiful. Solar panels heat the indoor pool and the grounds have some sculptures.The rooms are comfortable with good beds and nice furnishings.The food and wine were excellent, gracious serving staff. We were there with 2 groups and the staff handled it very well.Close to the University of Coimbra, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

    A delightful hotel located in central Portugal. Excellent service, delicious food, and a fantastic breakfast await you. This space is adorned with contemporary art and features a lovely spa area. The sunset from the balcony is a must-see.
