The hotel occupies a 16th century fortress, which was built overlooking Horta Bay and was declared a national monument in 1947. From the hotel guests are able to enjoy breathtaking views of Pico Island as well as the famous harbour. Vulcao dos Capelinhos, Varadouro, Morro de Castelo Branco and Caldera are all just a hour drive from the hotel.
The hotel was built in 1567. 28 double rooms are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift.
