    Extremely disappointing. The restaurant feels like a canteen.They charge you for any little opportunity available - parking, robe, swim cap, you name it.     First stop in Portugal was in Evora at the Vila Gale Evora Hotel.Our experience was wonderful. The hotel was very modern with restaurant, pool and bar. It was run very efficiently and the staff was very personable and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and bed was great.     Ideal for a night or two

    Liked:Clean comfortable room and bathroom. Pleasant, helpful receptionists. Excellent buffet breakfasts. Location on the fringe of the old city. Disliked:Shortage of plug points for devices. No coffee machine or fridge. No swimming pool robes (except in “superior” rooms) as you discover the hard way. Guests are issued tickets for towels at the pool but have to return to reception to ask for robes (€5 each), which are then delivered to their rooms on the far side of the hotel, to be fetched before trekking back to the brilliant heated pool.     Lacking personality and paper thin towels

    Avoid this hotel if you can. It is a glass box and once you get into the dull rooms it gets worse. The bed is rock hard. The pillows seem to be stuffed with rags. The towels are paper thin. Breakfast is okay. We had to stay here as part of a tour group, but I would not stay here by choice. The people who work here are all very nice. It is just the hotel that leaves much to be desired.
