    Amazing stay

    rating19 Dec 2025

My boyfriend and I had the perfect night celebrating his birthday. The attention to detail to make it special truly blew me away. Not to mention that in the middle of the week in December we had the whole spa to ourselves. I would recommend this stay to anyone in a heartbeat! Thank you for all your help

    The most amazing view :)

    rating31 May 2025

I went with the family for the weekend and it was a really nice stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a balcony in the outside where you can appreciate the view of the fields. The pools are also really nice and the outside beds very confy to relax by the pool. To repeat for sure :) Sleep and Nature HOTEL, Outro at Sleep & Nature Hotel, responded to this review Dear Ana,Thank you so much for your kind words! We're delighted to hear that you and your family had a lovely weekend with us and that you enjoyed the spacious rooms, the beautiful views, and the relaxing pool area.It means a lot to know you had such a positive experience — we’ll be more than happy to welcome you back anytime for another peaceful getaway!Warm regards,The Sleep & Nature Team

Not quite as serene as we expected at pool

    rating18 May 2025

My husband and I stayed for 1 night - Saturday. It was the first very warm weekend I think of the season. We arrived 4pm. Yes the road does have pot holes but being daylight we were able to navigate these .. a sedan car may find this tricky especially after heavy rain. Added less than 5 mins to our trip. After dropping our bags in a room - which is we were more than happy enough with the decor, bathroom and patio - we headed to the pool to relax in the sun. Sadly all the loungers were taken. We chose to use the loungers in the inside pool cushion but got too hot as the room is heated. I think if you arrive on a weekend or school holidays - expect to find families with children making use of the pool which may not yield the serene atmosphere for couples hoping for a peaceful afternoon at the pool.Dinner was very tasty - beef and vegetable stew. Bed was comfortable but unfortunately didn’t get a full night rest due to a group of ladies gathered in the room next door. Staff were friendly and professional. If this hotel promotes sleep - perhaps:- make the indoor ‘spa’ pool adults only to create a separate space - have a quiet time from 11pm onwards Sleep and Nature HOTEL, Other at Sleep & Nature Hotel, responded to this review Dear Lynne,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your honest feedback is truly appreciated and helps us to continue improving. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the comfort of your room, the dinner, and the professionalism of our staff. We're sorry, however, that your experience by the pool and your night's rest did not fully meet your expectations. As you mentioned, weekends and warmer days — especially at the start of the season — can bring more families and children to the pool area, which may affect the serene atmosphere that some guests, particularly couples, are looking for. Your suggestions regarding implementing a designated quiet time and possibly setting adult-only hours for the indoor spa pool are very valuable and will be taken into careful consideration by our management team.We truly hope to welcome you again — perhaps during a quieter time — so you can fully enjoy the peaceful and restful environment we aim to offer.Warm regards,The Sleep & Nature Team

Honest review based on own experience.

    rating26 Mar 2025

The following is an honest and fair review and by no means a put-down. We visited this hotel in mid-March 2025 for a short getaway (2-night stay), but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. For context, we arrived quite late (not the hotel's problem at all). The heating in our room didn’t work (mid-march is cool at night in Alentejo), and the only alternative offered was a room without double beds, despite our original request for two separate beds for comfort. We understand this request is pending availability and it is a relatively small hotel but, we are not a couple and needed space so as not to disturb each other's sleep. The room itself felt unfinished, a bit bland and uninviting in terms of décor. The set-up was cute but, as an example, it needed a console or small table under the TV, an additional lounge chair and more artwork on the bare walls. The built-in closet and desk are quite nice. The washroom was clean and massive and it was well-designed. Two days before arrival, we were informed via email that the Turkish bath wouldn’t be working and wouldn’t be repaired in time for our stay. While we understand that things break and despite things moving slowly in Portugal, essential amenities should be fixed promptly, or guests should be compensated accordingly e.g. offer an alternative experience while staying at the hotel, a small discount voucher to the spa/restaurant, a small welcome gift such as fresh fruit or regional sweets, an affordable bottle of wine (sorry to interject but, just brainstorming).Another major downside is getting to the hotel. The pothole-ridden roads mentioned in other reviews are no exaggeration—you can’t drive over 20 km/h without risking serious damage to your car. The front desk team mentioned that they are partnering with the city on road improvements which is a great step, but even within the hotel’s own gated entrance, the roads are just as bad. This absolutely needs to be addressed. No compromise here in order to satisfy the customer experience.Ultimately, after discussing with the reception staff, we decided to leave that same night as we weren’t going to get the relaxation & experience we came for. While we did receive a full refund since we didn't stay, it took a few days to process. We are foreigners living & working in Portugal and after driving two hours there and two hours back the same night, it was a complete waste of time for us. For a hotel that opened in June 2023, there’s been more than enough time to iron out these issues. That said, this review is by no means a put-down! We work in hospitality as well, and we know that small improvements can make a huge difference from the guest experience perspective. We also acknowledge that budgets to run a place like this are substancial - at times, this may affect the completion of projects. On the upside, the hotel was clean, it is pet-friendly for our fellow animal lovers (they provided a bowl and little feeding mat for our little dog) and the reception staff was pleasant, responsive and readily available both in person and via Whatsapp. They did their best. This place has alot more potentional than currently presented. Providing your team with the right support is important as well. Best of luck! Sleep and Nature HOTEL, Other at Sleep & Nature Hotel, responded to this review Dear Jennifer,Thank you sincerely for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review of your recent experience with us.We genuinely appreciate your honesty and the constructive nature of your comments. It's clear that you approached your stay with understanding and fairness, and as hospitality professionals yourselves, your perspective is especially valued. We're truly sorry that your visit didn’t meet your expectations and that key elements of your stay—such as the room setup, heating, and the unavailable Turkish bath—impacted your ability to relax and enjoy your getaway. We take your feedback very seriously and are already reviewing how we can improve our communication and find creative, thoughtful ways to compensate guests when amenities are unexpectedly unavailable. Your suggestions, from small gestures to alternative experiences, are excellent and very helpful.Regarding the access roads, we completely agree. While we are in ongoing conversations with the local municipality to improve the surrounding infrastructure, we also recognize that the condition of the roads within our own gated property is fully our responsibility, and this is something we are actively working to address. It’s encouraging to know that you found the team friendly and responsive, and that the cleanliness and pet-friendly touches added a bit of comfort. We’re proud of our team and will make sure your kind words reach them.We truly believe in this project's potential, and your words reinforce our commitment to delivering the kind of experience our guests deserve. Thank you again for your candid review and for wishing us well—we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future, under much better circumstances.Warm regards,Sleep and Nature Team

Not sure where sleep quality is prioritise here

    rating05 Oct 2024

The hotel asked us to write them an email if we had negative feedback. And we did. But they never acknowledged it or replied and so sadly I felt called to share it here.Let’s first start with the concept of this hotel. It’s focused on the quality of sleep or at least it’s advertising as such. A project of a very known sleep specialist so one goes with some level of expectations. It’s interesting to arrive to the hotel and even before leaving the car starting to notice a lot of things that make no sense. The hotel is on a valley that is completely desforested. There is nature, sure. But let’s be real… in a really poor state. There is no effort to reforest the areas around to integrate the structures in the landscape and so it’s all exposed to the sun and non private. At check in- sleep quality or the concept of the hotel is never mentioned - interesting. There are children all around which is very surprising for a hotel promoting sleep quality and rest. The pool area does not have enough space for all guests nor does the interior pool that has about 8 sunbeds (for 32 rooms).By the swimming pool there were about 4 pots with plants : all dead.Interesting cause there was 0 effort of having gardens or greenery around the space and the ones that exist are left to die. And you can tell me it’s thhow Alentejo and there is no water - but you can create water and you create water by planting trees. The rooms are stuffy and you are forced to use the AC as the windows are actually doors to the patio with no mosquito screen or whatsoever. Our patio was a little corner with plastic chairs and a claustrophobic feel to it.We get to another detail now: as we are again at a hotel whose concept is around sleep quality - we expect the food to be in some way promoting that too - simple food / easy to digest / light / some Ayurvedic macrobiotic healthy but nutritious menu… don’t get me wrong the food was good. But heavy options. So I am left with the question: why is this a Sleep hotel? Where did Teresa Paiva innovate here? It sounds like a little bit of a trap on that sense. You could just call it a normal hotel.I’m really sad to be writing this review but I’ve worked in hospitality for 15 years and when you charge a certain amount of money for a place and market it to a certain field of wellness, you can’t fail at so many things and be just a common hotel. Sleep and Nature HOTEL, Outro at Sleep & Nature Hotel, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are truly sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially considering the high standards we aim to uphold. We regret that we did not have the chance to address your concerns directly after your initial email. We understand your disappointment regarding several aspects of the hotel, including the landscaping, the pool area, and the room conditions. We are constantly working to improve our space and the guest experience, and your observations will certainly help us in this process. As for the concept of promoting sleep quality, we take your comments seriously and will review our practices and communications to ensure we align with our guests' expectations. Your feedback regarding the food and the overall environment is also valuable, and we will take it into consideration as we continue to refine our offerings.Once again, we appreciate your comments and hope we have the opportunity to improve your perception during a future stay. Thank you.
