We were given a great, spacious room with balcony overlooking the garden/pool area. The bed and bedding were excellent for a good nights sleep. The bathroom clean and a good size although the shower pressure wasn’t great. There are multiple common areas throughout the pousada with sofas, chairs, tables and even a games room. We really enjoyed this hotel. The room was large with a great bed and very quiet. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help with anything. Brilliant choice of a hotel stay in a castel.

Portuguese government rebuilt many castles and renamed them Pausada as a move to utilise these heritage places. This is one of them, but now run by a private company. We visited the Pausada Palmela for comparison and found this much better place to stay.This castle/hotel has 35 rooms, all rooms are huge and with lots of space. An excellent welcome from the reception and then directed to a small restaurant 5 minutes away whilst our room was being prepared. It was comfortable and quiet and the buffet breakfast was fine...although the toasters never seem to function well anywhere and you end up with hard un-toasted bread...this needs attention! An amazing hotel with outstanding service

This is a very unique hotel steeped in history. A former convent converted very tastefully and situated above the Sado river. From arrival and check in to departure the staff were friendly, very helpful and super attentive. Rooms are clean and spacious , with balcony views.
