  Unpleasant experience

  I travelled all the way from London and was genuinely looking forward to a relaxing five-day stay at Playa Blanca Resort. Unfortunately, my experience has been deeply disappointing.One of the main issues is what I feel was misleading advertising. Before arriving, the photos gave the impression that guests would have access to the large pool areas shown. However, after paying and checking in, we were told that we were not allowed to use the large pool featured in the photos, and that we could only use two much smaller pools. This was extremely disappointing and not what I understood I was paying for.The pools we were allowed to use were also very unpleasant. In my opinion, they did not feel clean or well maintained.Another major issue has been the noise. We are staying for five days, and throughout our stay the building we are in has been undergoing renovation work. There has been constant drilling, hammering, and construction noise, which has made it very difficult to relax. I understand that hotels sometimes need to carry out maintenance, but guests should be informed clearly in advance when this level of work is taking place.Overall, I feel very disappointed with the stay. I came a long way expecting a relaxing holiday, but the restricted pool access, poor pool conditions, and ongoing construction noise have made the experience far below what I expected. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves communication with future guests.   Our experience had 2 ending. When we arrived at the lobby Mr. Edison approached us, telling us he us going to allow us check in before 3:00p.m, but, he will show us the hotel the next day, but after some difficulties in the communication because he was pushing very hard to show us the installation. We said no, then he said we have to wait until 3:00p.m for check in. We waited 1:45 hours. at the lobby. For the other end when we finally checked in and walked inside the hotel. We found the guest service and Mrs Niurka helped us a lot. She has a great customer service experience and know how treat customers.   Older place that's trying...

  There are two separate properties here. The hotel has acces to the very nice laguna, which is not technically available to resort guests. The resort is all-inclusive, and is an older property. We got a room that had just been renovated, which was very pleasant. Older rooms look really old. There are very few rooms with water views. The beach is OK - but not a lot of shade or many chairs to sit on. Chairs are at a premium around the two pools on busy days. It can be a pretty rowdy crowd on weekends. The food was OK. Plenty of it and decent variety, but little that really stands out. It is quite easy to get reservations at the specialty restaurants, compared to some all-inclusives we've been to. The Italian restaurant was enjoyable. A nice freshly made pizza was delivered to each table. Decent choices on the menu, but most of the food is the same as at the buffet. Lines were not a problem on the buffets. I would look a little further if you're looking for a special time at an all-inclusive.   Beautiful place to go, worth the travel! Very accommodating & quick to resolve issue, food had taste to it!   The restaurants staff and food are excellent

  We stayed at the residence area but often go to the resort for food. The staff at the restaurants are excellent and food are very good. We specially liked the seafood restaurant "El Velero". All the staff at "El Velero" are exceptional, the salad, dessert bars are varied and fresh and the main dish are excellent. We specially liked the lobster tails and steaks. We also enjoyed the tepanyaki. The tepanyaki cheff, Thomas, has good sense of humor and keeps the crowd entertained. Also, have to mention that the staff at the buffet restaurant are very nice too. Every time we go there, they welcome us with a big smile. We liked the fresh fruits, chicken wings, and the local cheese. Overall we had good experience with the staff at the restaurants and food are excellent. We'll be coming back in the future.
