  I had a wonderful experience during my recent stay at Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort. The location is truly breathtaking, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere that made the visit very special.The staff were extremely welcoming, professional, and attentive to every detail, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The elegant rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed, and designed to blend luxury with the natural surroundings, while the serene atmosphere and world-class facilities make it the ultimate mountain escape.What truly elevated our stay to an unforgettable experience was the exceptional, heartfelt service from the entire team.   Heavenly stay - the BEST hotel in Oman

  Stayed 3-night here in the Anantara Cliff Pool Villa #10. For the villas, you'd be assigned a personal butler. Our butler, Praveen, was exemplary. He is definitely amongst the best butlers and we have had plenty of different ones at all the hotel hotel chains. He was very intelligent, considerate and extremely good at communications and highly efficient. He would anticipate everything you'd need before you even thought of it. If you stay here, you should request for him as your butler.Onto the resort itself. At first I was worried the view here wouldn't be as nice as it's built slightly further in, away from the cliff, and that it was too big of a place. My worries were proved unfound, as it turned out to be the best hotel we have stayed in Oman. Everything here was top notch, the view was excellent, and everything was within a short walk in the resort. Our room had a heated pool and a perfect view of the ridge. F&B was extremely good, from Italian to Thai food, was the best we've had in Oman. We also did a couple of the guided walks/hikes and the tour and our guides were excellent. We loved our stay here so much and would definitely love to return next time outside of Ramadan so we could try all the restaurants here.   I stayed here in January and should have posted my review earlier. It is possible by now that the security situation has deteriorated in Oman. I sincerely hope not, however, if you are reading this I assume you may be interested in going to Oman. I would urge you to go. Oman is a much underrated tourist destination. It has fantastic hotels, beaches, tradition, culture, history and wildlife, particularly birds. It is also very safe. The people are polite and respectful and although it is more conservative than Europe you will encounter no problems as long as you are polite and respectful in return.As for the Anantara, it is a wonderful hotel. It’s amazing that a remote location like Al Jabal Al Akhdar has 2 of the best hotels around. We stayed at the Alila before the Anantara was even built. The Alila is a bit more remote and there has been more development around the Anantara since last we were here but there are still fantastic views to be had from the hotel gardens and a short walk away near the villages of Al Aqur and Al Ayn.As you would expect, the rooms are of a very high standard. We booked a Premier Canyon View room, which is the entry level. When we arrived we were upgraded to a Deluxe Canyon View room which are on the second floor giving better views over the canyon.The food is very good, although I would have liked the option of a snack on some evenings. I simply am no longer able large meals every night but I don’t particularly want to sit in my room with room service.Finally but most importantly a mention for the excellent staff. We are only able to enjoy such places because staff travel from all over the world to work here. Of course, the hotel has many Omani staff but so many come from places like India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia. They leave wives and children behind for months at a time to make places like The Anantara possible.I would like to give a special thank you to Hadi from Indonesia in the Al Maisan restaurant and Abdul from Bangla Desh, who worked around the pool/ Bella Vista restaurant. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I hope the senior management appreciate and look after them.
