Good location but some issues

The location and most aspects of this hotel in central Oslo are excellent. We found the staff always helpful and friendly, and the breakfast spread is extensive. However, a couple of issues were disappointing for us. The room lighting is abysmal; there is only one bright light, over he entry door where it is little use, and no fixed lighting at all in the area where there is a desk, so it is impossible to read or write. Our room was on the second floor right over the main entry and was very noisy, with a canopy outside our window acting as a sound shell for every conversation held by smokers late into the night. It was also noisy from the event music going on. Finally, a minor issue, but a hotel of this standard should not miss a room service, as happened to us, so we had to ask for fresh towels at the desk.

Spent 3 nights in a Junior Suite room May 2026 - husband and I on a short city break. Pros - location is excellent, breakfast selection was exceptional, junior suite was spacious, rooftop bar was great (but is small and gets busy - book ahead)Cons - Noise from busy road and trams, overly complicated lighting and door locking in roomOverall would stay again due to exc location and breakfast. Staff are very friendly when you check in, and throughout your stay. Good points Hotel reception was bright, clean and modern Close to all amenities including buses and trams to get around the city Breakfast was first classNegatives The light control in room was confusing and didn’t work properlyThere were no bath towels in bathroom only small hand towels which were flat and thin and definitely seen better days disappointing in a hotel like thisA coffee machine supplied but no complementary water no spoons no tea no kettle not everyone likes coffeeTv only had certain channels a waste of time really On 2nd day had to ask for our room to be clean, the older cleaning lady gave attitude and the room was eventually half cleaned really bad in a hotel with there reputation (the young cleaning maids did a much better job and I couldn’t fault them )The hall ways needed to be hoovered as they looked grimy .
