The room is not big but acceptable. The deco is simple, refined and comfortable, and the interior is clean and tidy.Although the lift is a little small, the overall environment of the hotel is quiet, cozy, pleasant and elegant. A Hidden Gem in the Norwegian Fjords
We travelled to Norway from Ireland. It was our dream to see the Fjords and we stopped in Ulvik on our way from Oslo to Bergen. We stayed at the Brakanes Hotel for two nights. Good hotel on shoreline of beautiful fjord in picturesque Ulvik. We stayed one night as part of our trip through the fjords. Room was clean, good size and well appointed. The Brakanes Hotel in Ulvik is well past its days as a peaceful, luxury hotel. They seem to now cater to large tour bus groups, making it crowded, noisy, and unfriendly. Since they allow smoking on the balconies, the rooms themselves smell of smoke. The morning breakfast buffet was by far the worst we experienced in two weeks of touring Norway.
