    Helpful staff!

Extremely helpful staff. I left behind my bag with my passport. They were prompt with sharing an email that helped with my ferry boarding. The breakfast is superb, the local is very stylish and intriguing, location is great! Ticks all the boxes!

    Good place

    rating09 Jun 2026

Have stayed here before. Not much has changed. A very functional space (an old transformed factory or warehouse, with the beam steels having been integrated nicely in the design of the rooms and the buildings.) The rooms are large (high ceiling) and functional. There is a kettle and some coffee and tea supplies. (The coffee -- some drip coffee thingy -- is pathetically weak, and you might as well forget about it.) The brekkie -- at 17.50 Euro -- is decent. There is also a bar on the rooftop and many other social spaces (table tennis, gym) which I have yet to explore. The staff is mostly friendly although some have quite the chip on their shoulder, sometimes bordering on the rude. Management might want to pay attention to it. Hotel Manager, Owner at The Social Hub Maastricht, responded to this review Hi there,Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback! We're glad our industrial-chic spaces and room functionality stood out during your return visit. However, we regret to hear the coffee didn't hit the spot and that some interactions fell short of our usual warmth. Your feedback helps us fine-tune these details. On a brighter note, we're thrilled to know you noticed our rooftop social spaces, which are designed to fuel connections with fellow explorers. We hope to be able to welcome you again.Best wishes,

    Great hotel, great location

    rating05 Sept 2025

A unique hotel within an old historic industrial building of Maastricht. The staff is very friendly and professional. The rooms are nice. A big parking lot behind the building, however this might be the only small negative it is 17 euro per day (public parking). The location is perfect only 500 meters to downtown!! The rooftop bar is nice too. Actually the entire neighbourhood is interesting and upcoming. Hotel Manager, Owner at The Social Hub Maastricht, responded to this review Hi there Gabriele,Thank you for taking the time to share your review. It’s electric to hear you loved your Social Hub experience! We’re stoked you vibed with our industrial-chic ceramics factory home—nothing beats sharing this creative space with explorers like you. Big cheers for highlighting our team’s warm service too! Glad the room’s modern setup and handy parking access made your stay smooth. We hear you on the parking fees—our Frontensingel partners help preserve this heritage area while keeping logistics simple for drivers. How cool you soaked up Maastricht’s pulse from our Sphinxkwartier base? Between Bold Rooftop’s skyline views and the area’s creative energy, we love being your launchpad for urban adventures! It would be awesome to see you again very soon 🤩All the best,Carmen, Community Manager

    Shockingly poor administration/information etc

    rating31 Aug 2025

So far not so good...told my son could only check in at 15:00 9First day of University), when we got there (at 14:50) told there were 35 people ahead of us and people had been queueing since 11:00...we had to leave all his possessions so he get back to his first class.I called twice before taking him there to confirm that he would have access to a bike and was told he would. He has just contacted me that he has to set up a contract for it with a 10cent deposit, none of his cards will allow him to do this. He is an overseas student, we now cannot arrange anything for him so he cannot have a bike, cash is not an option...this should have been made very clear before check-in.So at the moment at a cost of nearly 1700 euros/month I am far from impressed, his room better be a palace and someone better get him a bike.... Hotel Manager, Owner at The Social Hub Maastricht, responded to this review Hello Louise, it's disappointing to know that you didn't have the best experience with us. We value your input and want to make things right. We’ve also spoken with your son, and everything for his bike rental agreement should now be set up. We apologize for the check-in delays and the bike rental confusion. Your comments about value will be shared with management as we continually refine our guest experience. All the best,The Social Hub Maastricht

4-star Hotel, no. Funky student hotel or backpackers' stop-over, definitely

    rating23 Jul 2025

Liked · The hotel cannot pass as a 4-star hotel in the true sense of the word. Rather, it is a funky student hostel or a one-nighter that a backpacker would pass through. The Bold Rooftop bar on the 8th floor had lovely views!Disliked · 4-star implies upscale, with a high standard of service; stylish and well-maintained rooms with premium bedding and deco... This is not 'it'. The bed was rock-hard and positioned at 90 degrees against two walls, so one of us had to constantly crawl in from the bottom of the bed. When you are 60+ or have physical limitations, that is not convenient. There is no bed-making service and the bed is impossible to move, so very difficult to make yourself. There is no safe in the room, so if you wanted to leave valuables in the room while you walk around, you cannot. The bathroom sink was blocked, which would have been obvious to housekeeping, not only due to the terrible smell, but it would not drain. Yet it was not attended to. Once you've had a shower, the bathroom floor is wet. Although there are signs up reminding one to use a minimal amount of water and to be conscious of the damage we as humans are doing to the planet, it doesn't help if you have to throw towels on the floor to dry up the mess. There are no fridges in the room, so if you are staying for more than one night and would like to keep something cold, you cannot. Since it is a repurposed old ceramics factory (love the idea!), the ceilings are very high. The curtain was coming off on one end, so the light came in early in the morning. They have interesting coffee filter bags that you are supposed to position over your your cup and then pour hot water over. Either the glasses they have provided (no cups) are too big, or the paper 'handles' have been fitted incorrectly, but they do not stay on the glass and the boiling water pours all over. I burnt two fingers trying to make coffee. The standard of cleanliness did not meet the level of 4-star. Hotel Manager, Owner at The Social Hub Maastricht, responded to this review Hi there,Thanks for taking the time to let us know your opinion of your recent stay with us.We're delighted that you enjoyed the breathtaking views from our Bold Rooftop bar, where you can take in the panoramic sights of Maastricht while savoring a refreshing drink. However, we sincerely apologize that your experience fell short in some areas. Our maintenance team has been notified about the bathroom drainage and curtain issues you encountered. We understand your concerns about the bed placement and comfort, as well as the room amenities. Our reception team is always ready to assist with storing valuables and providing alternative solutions for keeping items cool. The coffee preparation method you mentioned should have been more user-friendly, and we're sorry for any discomfort caused. Maintaining pristine cleanliness is crucial to us, and we regret that we didn't meet our usual standards during your stay.We all hope you'll visit us again.Cheers,Carmen L., Manager
