Quiet, inexpensive hotel across from Tulum Ruins

    rating05 May 2026

Budget hotel right across from the Tulum ruins & away from the loud & busy Centro.A bit run down, but the perfect inexpensive resting place for a solo traveler arriving from Cancun who wants to see the Tulum ruins before heading towards Coba & Chichen Itza.Comfortable rooms. Rooftop has view of ruins in the distance.I stayed here again 3 weeks later on my way back home. The breakfast & dinner buffets left much to be desired. Some selections cold & inedible. After dinner, I went to the GoMart across the street for beverages & wished I would have bought dinner there.Hard to find... look for the Lobo Inn sign & the Siente Tulum Hotel is located right behind it.

Wonderful place for a holiday stay ??Rooms are clean and regularly serviced, and the hotel is very tidy and cozy??Staff are incredibly kind and helpful—they treat guests with genuine warmth and friendliness ??Food is absolutely delicious, prepared with care, and there’s something for everyone??????Atmosphere here is truly special—it’s the best hotel I could have chosen for my dream vacation ??I wholeheartedly recommend it and only wish I could give it more stars??

Definitely do not recommend this hotel.

Set an average hotel I chose the all-inclusive package so I wouldn’t have to spend extra money on meals and oh my goodness if you like hotdog, you’ll get lots of hotdog! The food is rather bland and boring!! The rooms are not very exciting at all for the amount of money that you pay you would expect a little bit better room, but it’s just kind of average.! the thing that I would like to warn everybody about is the excursion concierge her name is Sandra and please do not book with her! We did two excursions the first one was great. We had an all day excursion to the ruins at Chitenitza and that was great. The only thing that was rather suspect was when we went out to get out onto the transportation, the driver demanded another $40 in payment just for him, which was never explained to us!The second day we were supposed to go on a snorkeling/lunch and the ruins right by the hotel tour! I was charged $150 for this tour little did I know that there was absolutely no tour guide we were left to wander around all by ourselves. Once we got inside the ruins we had to pay again to go and actually see the ruins. I guess what we paid for the first time was just to get into the Jaguar park then I was sent an email saying that I was supposed to go at 11 PM for lunch and good luck finding the place that we were supposed to go and eat lunch and then all of a sudden the snorkeling part was canceled. so here we are how we have wandered around for four hours trying to figure all of this out only to find out it’s canceled so we go back to the hotel to request a refund. No such luck we were told that it was $80 just to do the food part because it was supposed to be “and experience“ yeah some experience so please take this advice and do not book any excursions through this lady. She just ripped us off big time!!!

    great experience

    rating08 May 2025

    4. (U) To begin with, the price is what attracted me to it. Once we found the place, the check in process was easy and they worked with us requesting a different room. They had fresh water in the room and a hammock! We've never had hammocks in room before. The room was cleam, but hot. took awhile for the AC to kick in. Thew view isn't much since both properties on each side are abandoned. However, the view from the rooftop where the pool lis locatedf is amazing. The breakfast options are ok, not great not bad. But the atmosphere, the seating and the friendliness of the staff makes up for it. The only downside we had was trying to find the place. It doesn't look like a hotel. Look for the big sign that says TULUM, then drive into the property in the back. Overall, it was a good experience, we got more than what we paid for. I will definitely be staying there again

    Bad food and mosquitos.

    rating06 Jan 2025

Don't buy the breakfast or dinner upgrades it's very overpriced and very low quality. Cereal, white bread and stale gas station pastries, the dessert and coffee taste like artificial instant powder. Plastic cups and jugs make drinks taste like plastic. Selection is mainly overcooked meats and carbs, basically prison food. No tacos, no ceviche, no nachos, nothing tasty like that, very disappointed. For dinner it looked like there was nothing to drink except for hot water.Don't stay here if you're worried about Zika virus, we found at least 3 mosquitoes in our room and got many bites. There are no screen doors for your patio door and large gaps in the room door frame to let mosquitoes into your room from the hallway windows which are always open and have no screens on them either. The shower head needs descaling and sprays everywhere in the tiny shower area that is too close to the toilet and there is nowhere to stand in the washroom. No fridge and poor sound insulation from hallways.Very unorganized staff. They messed up our vacation package and made us miss our airport transfer.
