  Terrible experience/ please don’t book

  I had a truly terrible experience at Selina Oaxaca, and for the price we paid, it was absolutely not worth it. We booked a private room with a bathroom, and what they gave us was basically a closet — tiny, dark, with no windows, and nothing like the description online.The whole place felt dirty, including our room. We stayed for two nights and housekeeping only showed up once, even though we left the “please clean” sign on the door.The common areas were also disappointing: dirty, poorly maintained, and honestly quite neglected.Overall, it was an overpriced, uncomfortable, and frustrating stay. I would not recommend Selina Oaxaca to anyone.⸻Tuve una experiencia realmente terrible en Selina Oaxaca, y para el precio que pagamos no valió absolutamente la pena. Reservamos una habitación privada con baño y lo que nos dieron fue básicamente un clóset: diminuto, oscuro, sin ventanas y nada que ver con la descripción en línea.Todo el lugar se sentía sucio, incluida nuestra habitación. Nos quedamos dos noches y solo hicieron el cuarto una vez, a pesar de que dejamos el letrero de “por favor limpiar”.Las áreas comunes también fueron decepcionantes: sucias, descuidadas y claramente mal mantenidas.En general, fue una estancia cara, incómoda y frustrante. No recomiendo Selina Oaxaca para nada.

  Lovely small hotel

  The hotel is filled with beautiful murals and rated number 4 of small hotels in the Centro district of Oaxaca. It is centrally located and an easy walk to everything in the city center. The room was very clean and comfortable with a marvelous rain shower.

  Don't stay here. We booked a private room with private bathroom on Booking.com but when we arrived, we were given a room with a shared bathroom. We raised this to Selina and they said there is nothing they can do, the information they had had us down as a budget room with a lower price than what we paid... we showed them the proof of our booking & payment and they didn't seem bothered. This is both Selina's and Booking.com fault but Selina staff were defensive and told us to complain to Booking/ wouldn't offer to help... My review of the customer service is that it's very bad, so expect the same treatment if you get any issues. Terrace and restaurant and both under construction which wasn't advertised. The whole experience was a shame as we specifically chose this hostel/ room for the private room and bathroom option and to enjoy the terrace. We won't be staying at a Selina again.Location is very good and cleanliness is okay but it's not worth the price at all.

  Worst hotel experience I've ever had, avoid Selina Oaxaca at all costs.

  Worst hotel experience I've ever had – avoid Selina Oaxaca at all costs.- The rooftop, prominently advertised during booking, was closed and completely non-functional.- The coworking space was also shut down without any prior notice.- Wi-Fi consistently stopped working after 9PM.- Noise levels were unbearable: loud street sounds late at night, followed by early morning construction starting at 8AM.- The shared kitchen was in terrible condition, only one dull knife and a single pan that was completely burned and unusable.To make things worse, after I complained, the staff promised a partial refund to compensate for the issues. I was told the refund would arrive within 3 days. It’s now been over 10 days, and not only did I not receive anything, they are now refusing to honor that commitment.Disappointing and dishonest experience. Best of luck if you go, but I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

  The BEST location in Oaxaca!

  This place was spectacular! The facilities are super clean, the price is super cheap and the value for the stay is right on point. The location is one of the best in Oxaca (two blocks from the plaza). I took my family of five with three children and we enjoyed our stay and the services at this hotel. We want to give a shout-out to the Hotel GM David for the warm hospitality. We will return!
