March 2nd. Just checked in. Balcony room. Opened the curtain. The beautiful swimming pools on the website are all EMPTY ! !. The website says nothing about this at all. Bogus. Checking out right now. Very good hotel, very quiet and relaxing, great breakfast with really good waiters. Room was nice, great views. Location was good, rooms are fresh and modern however lightbulbs were burnt out in nightlight and make mirror. Only had wifi on the first day. Next 4 days none in the room. Maid service was poor. Missing cream and sugar first day, second day she did not replace the bar of soap for the sink. Toilet had not been cleaned. No ice machines. Had to go to the restaurant to get it. Stayed two nights at the Double Tree celebrating our wedding anniversary. An over-the-top effort by the staff to help kick things off, very much appreciated. Very spacious and comfortable room with a fabulous ocean view provided a great vantage point to watch the sun go down from the chair set on the balcony. Great stay in mazatlan ! We booked a suite on the 17th floor and the views were amazing. Only downside is the wait times of the elevators during prime check in and check out times. Other than that our stay was amazing ! Plenty of local spots nearby walking distance and the beach/ pool area was easy to access !
