  Getting to the hotel was a nightmare. Terrible roads, difficult to find. No basics such as coffee maker or ice machine. Beds were hard as a rock. I advise looking elsewhere. Very busy around the area and out of the way for traveling to Merida or Cancun. Felt unsafe the whole way to the city, and in the city.   I enjoyed my stay in this very comfortable, clean, modern, good breakfast, pet-friendly hotel. Hotel staff and manager are very gracious and accommodating. Everything except driving directions was excellent. If you use your typical mapping on your phone you’ll end up in a narrow dead-end alley with dogs, so if you are traveling with pets you especially won’t want to find yourself there.   Hotel Zar is a new hotel, that although difficult to find is outstanding in every way. It is in the only nice area of Coatzacoalcos, with multiple dining options, prime theaters and large air-conditioned mall within walking distance of less than 1/2 mile (and it´s very safe).
