Location

Located south of Terengganu and just a minute's walk from the city centre, this resort is fringed by a 7.6 km private beach. It is the ideal pied-à-terre to take advantage of all the wonders of Kijal.

Facility

The resort has a lift and features 363 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Worst hotel ever!!!!

This was by far the most infuriating, disgraceful experience I’ve ever had with any hotel, and I travel often. Resorts World Kijal is a complete scam operation hiding behind rigid policies and robotic customer service.I accidentally booked the wrong date (Booking ID: 1922513654, August 19 to 20, 2025). The moment I realized it, I immediately rebooked the correct date, which was August 2, 2025. I even paid for the stay again. So they got two full payments, and I stayed only once.And yet, they flat-out refused to refund, amend, or offer any credit for the original date. Their response? A cold, soulless, copy-paste reply: “Non-refundable, non-changeable.” That’s it. No logic. No empathy. No basic human decency.Let me be clear. I wasn’t asking for a special favor. I rebooked with them. I still gave them my business. But they chose greed over integrity.Their so-called customer service is a joke. Emotionless, scripted, and zero effort to understand or help. It was like dealing with a wall. They could have easily shown some flexibility, but instead, they chose to pocket my money and shrug it off.To make things worse, during my actual stay, they even had the audacity to charge me RM20 just for an extra blanket. As if double-charging me for the room wasn’t enough, they still tried to squeeze every last ringgit out of me.This is not hospitality. This is predatory behavior. Resorts World Kijal will take your money, hide behind fine print, and abandon you the moment anything goes wrong.If you make even a simple, honest mistake, they will exploit it. No refund. No adjustment. No support. Just cold policy and absolute indifference.Shame on this resort for their dishonesty and inhuman treatment of paying guests. I will never return, and I strongly urge everyone to avoid this place completely. Spend your money where guests are treated with fairness and respect, because Resorts World Kijal treats you like a walking ATM.Update: They charged me RM20 for an extra blanket without informing me upfront and when I raised the issue with AGODA afterwards they denied the charge and claimed there was no record despite it being written on a manual invoice by a lady in tudung during my stay. Unfortunately i threw away the invoice.This kind of dishonesty is completely unacceptable and shows a total lack of integrity! Resort world kijal is a disgrace!!! Family friendly Resort

This is our 3rd stay at this resort. We like it. Best place for stopover for 1-2 nights when you travel from KL to Terengganu. Seaview room is clean and comfortable. linens and towels white and soft. F&B at hotel very satisfactory in terms of price and taste. Hotel has big swimming pool, which all age of kids will enjoy. Beach side also nice, but we scared to swim. We love the scenery and beach in Awana Kijal Golf Resort Hotel,we plan our vacation almost two to tree times in a year,the hotel very nice, clean and the hotel guest service is very good and excellent, especially Ms Safra, she is gentle and very friendly. A Once Great Hotel Now Sadly Passed its Prime

A hotel living on its history and the fact that there is little competition. I have been staying at this hotel on business trips for the past 12 years. Recently the standard has dropped, there is not sufficient maintenance or interest in visitors happiness.One of the delights of this hotel was sitting on the beach with a cold beer. The hotel is now 'dry" so that small pleasure has now gone.Not really recommend for tourists any more sadly. Nothing good to say about it

Actually that’s not true …. The pool is nice and is good for laps but otherwise it’s a really bad hotel.Room - old, tired, shower with poor pressure but decent bed. AC didn’t work properly and noisy and bugs coming under the door.Decor everywhere old and tired.Beach bar food just awful and guy had the cheek to say ‘I’ll go check’ when I charged the lousy burger to my room Check in / out slow and unfriendly, staff generally didn’t care.This is a hotel slowly falling into disrepair running at about 30% occupancy with services to match.Best avoided but likely the only choice in the area ?Rob Social Care Team, Other at Resorts World Kijal, responded to this review Dear Valued Guest,We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay at our hotel.
