Stayed here two nights, firstly the hotel is well located just behind a major walking street through Kaunas that leads to the Old Town. We were checked in promptly and the room was upgraded to a Superior as a VIP member. There was a lovely gesture of a beer and some peanuts left for us. At 7 a.m. this morning, the fire alarm went off, and a voice urged us to leave our rooms immediately and go downstairs using the stairs. I hurried out in a state of alarm, but when I returned, everything was calm; I then had to wait in line at reception only to find out it was a false alarm. I find this extremely serious and unacceptable! We had a very enjoyable stay at the Crowne Plaza Kaunas and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the city.The hotel is modern, clean and very well maintained, with comfortable rooms that had everything we needed for our stay. This Hotel is used a lot by patient using the Orthopaedic Clinic nearby where they pay for private operations. Sadly the Hotel doesn’t give this highly profitable stream of revenue enough care. I stayed for 10 days and picked up food poisoning from here on day two. This resulted in a delay with my operation for 2 days.
