Great location and very sustainable, ecofriendly hotel

    rating30 Jan 2026

I love the fact that they are ecofriendly and sustainable hotel. Each floor has a drinking water refilling station, ice machine and a smoking room. They don't clean and enter your room unless you asked for it or if it's 3 days since the last clean up. In front of the elevator has a cabinet full of Japanese artworks, books and Origami. Location wise is right in the mall and many malls next to it like Mitsukoshi. There are many goo restaurants below the hotel. Breakfast buffet is also good in here.

Location is the only real highlight of this hotel.

    rating14 Dec 2025

The location is excellent. The lobby is on the 6th floor, which is on the same level as the shopping mall. However, the elevators are shared with the mall as well. Although the elevators are fast, there are only two of them, which is not sufficient for the number of guests. On weekends, the waiting time is extremely long, and it becomes a nightmare if you are arriving from overseas with multiple pieces of luggage. The room size is decent, the bed is comfortable, and the bathroom is good. However, you need to refill water yourself, and bathroom amenities must be picked up separately. This hotel should not be rated as a 4-star property; it feels more like a 3-star hotel, similar to many others. The check-in process uses automated machines operated by staff. It looks modern, but in reality, it makes the process even slower. Printing documents for each room takes a long time. The worst part is the breakfast. Even though the restaurant is on the top floor with a great view and a nice setting, the breakfast is unacceptable. Unless you are okay with having burgers for breakfast—which are available in large quantities but barely touched by anyone—the options are very limited. The coffee is basic black coffee typically served at large events. Bread was not replenished at all (we sat there for almost 60 minutes and it was never refilled). The selection is limited, the food is not tasty, and it is extremely poor value for the price paid.Overall, if you are staying here purely for the location, it is perfect. However, if you expect anything more than that, this is not a hotel I would recommend.

    Location + Size -

    rating31 Oct 2025

Superior double is on the smaller side. Bed is queen and with the luggage rack you will barely have an area to move around. Location is prime. It doesn’t connect direct to the subway - we still needed to access street level and cross the street - but close enough to it and also the bus station. With this, it was easy to take day trips. Plenty of stores and food options around. Room is generally clean and well maintained but cleaning is every other day (not an issue - they bring change of towels and can take the trash on non-cleaning days etc). Service is efficient and not intrusive (perfect for introverts haha). Breakfast is nothing to write home about but gets the job done - with options for most diets. They deserve being the no. 1 in Tenjin area.

    Nice Hotel with Good Location

    rating08 Oct 2025

This is our second time staying at this hotel, mainly because of its convenient location. With its direct access to the underground shopping street at B2, you can visit a lot of different places as well as connect to the metro station without worrying about the weather. The hotel itself is sitting on top of a shopping mall, Solaria Plaza, which has all sorts of resturants and shops. The twin-bed room is of a reasonable size, and everything is just neat and tidy.Taxi from the airport to the hotel is around 2,500 JPY, and it only takes around 20 minutes. Of course, you could always catch the transfer bus from the airport to the airport metro station and catch the tube to Tenjin then reach the hotel through the underground shopping street. The check-in and check-out process is fast and quick. Guest Relations, お客様サービス / フロント オフィス at Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Fukuoka, responded to this review Thank you very much for choosing Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Fukuoka for your second stay. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit once again. We appreciate your kind words about our excellent location and the direct access to the underground shopping area. Being able to explore various places without worrying about the weather is indeed one of the great advantages of our hotel. We are also glad to know that you found the twin bed room spacious and well-equipped.Thank you for providing detailed information about the access from the airport. We are pleased to hear that the check-in and check-out processes were quick and smooth. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit and hope to see you again soon.Best regards,Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel FukuokaFront Desk, Hori

Worst check-in of my life – discriminatory staff & shabby hotel

    rating04 Jun 2025

I have stayed in Japan five times and have always praised Japanese hospitality.Sadly, Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Fukuoka (staff Hakatsu & Hamada) destroyed that image in minutes.Extorted extra money at check-in. I had already paid for the extra guest through the booking site. Instead of checking their own system, both clerks repeated like parrots, “Pay first or no room key,” refusing any explanation. It felt like a threat.Open hostility & anti-Korean attitude. Their faces were twisted in annoyance from the moment they heard my accent. Not one apology, not one attempt to clarify.Unsafe, rundown property. The hotel sits inside an old shopping mall. At night the ground floor is dark, with drunks and loitering teenagers. Hall carpets are stained; our room carpet still had hair on it. For a rate higher than many better hotels in Fukuoka, this felt closer to a neglected hostel. No real “weather-proof” benefit. Advertised indoor access to Solaria Plaza is useless unless it is pouring rain—and even then you drag luggage over bumpy, worn carpet. After hundreds of hotels worldwide, this was by far the most disrespectful welcome I have ever received. I will avoid this chain and advise other travelers—especially Korean guests—to stay elsewhere.
