Enjoyable stay at the Okura hotel Fukuoka. We thought the hotel probably needed a bit of an update as the furnishings seemed dated however this did not deter us enjoying our stay. We had a very enjoyable 4 night stay at the hotel which was conveniently located as part of our 17 day sightseeing trip across Japan. This was a really great hotel. The staff, as was everywhere we stayed in Japan, extremely courteous and respectful with nothing too much trouble. The main reason for my review is the value for money, the rooms were big by western standards and huge by Japanese standards, to a very high quality and very well equipped. 2 main grievances :1. Contacted reservation 8 months in advance. Many email exchanges on room rates, dates etc. We finalised the date with the reservation team in Jul and concluded that i would use my miserable leftover points to offset a room upgrade.
