  A Dingy and Filthy Experience

  We were travelling to Fukuoka for a pleasure trip and were booked into this hotel recommended by the agent JTB over more superior hotels in the Tenjin district in Fukuoka City. It is officially billed as a 4 star hotel but immediately apparent that the other 4 star hotels within walking distance have bigger and better facilities. The standard twin room here is a little more than 20 sq. metres and the bathroom is dingy and poorly lit to say the least. There is no drawer inside or outside the room closet to put garments so a guest has to live out of the suitcase. The shower curtain over the bathtub is so short and flimsy it is impossible not to wet the floor while taking a shower unless one is squatting in the tub. Housekeeping has not bothered to clean behind the desk and cupboards so globs of dust and dirt are clearly visible. The buffet breakfast is one of the poorest quality one can experience in a 4 star hotel anywhere in Japan.   Our second stay here. The hotel is in a very good location near Tenjin, one of the popular area in Fukuoka, where you can find many restaurants and shops. This is not a big hotel but serves well. Our room is a rather small. They have a lounge room for the guests and offers coffee service but eating is not allowed there. Staff is very efficient and have welcoming atmosphere.

  ひとり利用で2泊しました。・古いホテルだと思うのですが館内も部屋もきれい。・1階はコンビニエンスストア。周辺にもたくさんある。・地下鉄、西鉄、繁華街のすべてが徒歩圏内。・部屋には持ち出し可能な無料のレンタルスマートフォンがある。・Wi-Fiは部屋でストレスなく利用できた。・バスタブは深めで水圧も十分（8階）・浴室に引出し式の物干し用ロープあり。・浴室は清潔だけどやや生乾き臭があった。・コーヒー、お茶、お水がフリーで置いてある。・館内の雰囲気は落ち着いていてスタッフの応対も親切で丁寧。食事は利用していないのでわかりませんが、地産のものを扱っているようです。福岡周辺の観光の拠点としてとても良いホテルだと思います。・ I think it is an old hotel, but both the hall and the rooms are clean.・ The first floor is a convenience store. There are many around.・ The subway, Nishitetsu and downtown are all within walking distance.・ There is a free rental smartphone that can be taken out of the room.・ Wi-Fi was available in the room without stress.・ The bathtub is deep and the water pressure is sufficient (8th floor)・ There is a pull-out laundry rope in the bathroom.・ The bathroom was clean but smelled a little.・ Coffee, tea and water are free.・ The atmosphere in the hall is calm and the staff is helpful and kind.I think it is a very good hotel as a base for sightseeing around Fukuoka.

  Hotel not new but cozy though Location is best , AKL walking distance to eat , drink or shop Convenient shop right next to hotelNite food stall right in front of hotel Cheap sushj shop cross RoadRoom not so big but enough , air con ok centralise Can go back again

  Stayed last night at Hotel Monterey in Fukuoka city area. The hotel is closed to the Tenjin underground shopping mall where there is lots of shops eateries etc. The hotel room is smaller and cramp but clean and modern. The breakfast restaurant is modern with east and western food selection.
