I entered the designated room. I don't know what it is, but I can hear a sound like a motor or water flowing. I thought it was temporary, so I worked for a while, but the sound still bothers me. When I contacted the front desk on the internal line, they said, "I see, it will stop soon." That means they know that this room makes some kind of noise. Fukui branch of Ace Inn is located about a mile from the station. It was a typical claustrophobic Japanese business hotel but perfectly adequate for our one night stay. I stayed at the ACE Inn during my June visit to Fukui. The hotel was very nice… clean and quiet. The room -- a single -- was small (by American standards) which I presume is typical for Japanese business class hotels, but was fine for my 4 nights alone. There was a small desk and stool, and it was fine for doing some evening work.
