NOT a 5 star hotel !The majority of reviews rate this hotel highly ! Why ? As an ex hotel general manager I know they are NOT correct !The hotel is a mess and managed by hard working staff who appear to do anything and everything !The so called antiques present as an overcrowded museum and what attractive items there are, are lost in the chaotic method of presentation !!!Breakfast is an absolute s… NOT a 5 star hotel !The majority of reviews rate this hotel highly ! We’ve stayed at this hotel 2x: once about 15 years ago; and again this May, It is still fabulous! The hotel is quaint, romantic, and it couldn’t be better located near the historic piazza, great restaurants and the main attractions. Hotel Gabbia d’Oro is a real gem next to Piazza delle Erbe in Verona. It’s old (very old) and that’s part of what makes it special. Finally. I have walked past this place for many years, first as a traveler and then as a resident.
