Last night my daughter and I returned home from a wonderful four nights in Stresa. We've had a fabulous Italian break and fallen in love with Lake Maggiore. What has made this holiday really special was the hotel. Ideally placed, a short walk to the shops, lakeside, promenade and boat trips. Plus sides nice location,good clean room,most staff friendly,breakfast goodDownside pompous head waiter,evening meal cold and uninspiring,had to go across the street to sister hotel for dining room,the problem here you were not as important as the guests of that hotel,food mysteriously not plated in kitchen but brought to table in dining room and dolloped on to plate by waiters.
