The hotel is situated amongst mature trees and elegant gardens, directly overlooking Lake Maggiore. It is right in the middle of Baveno's town centre, which has many shops, restaurants and bars, as well as a tourist information centre. It is just a few minutes’ walk to the sandy beach and to the park. The train station is about 500 metres from the hotel.

Beautiful classic hotel

We were fortunate enough to stay at this lovely hotel with a Collette tour. I guess because it is off season, many of the tour companies utilize the Grand Hotel Dino for their tours. The staff throughout the hotel was engaging and helpful. We were never treated like we were on a tour. Breakfast was awesome with wonderful choices including hot, freshly made omelets. They even served "American" coffee! The property is gorgeous with great attention to detail. Rooms very clean and well kept. Our room had a lovely balcony with a lake view. It was nice enough during our stay for us to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance of being by the lake. Many restaurants nearby as well. Absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend it to others who would like a lakeside experience.

Excellent location, but not much customer service!

Not happy when you check in and buy some additional services at the reception during check in per the price they tell you and then at the check out charge you differently and say "sorry" if the other receptionist has given you a wrong price!Completely unacceptable. Also, during the breakfast, we had ourself to look and find silverwear and clean our breakfast table. Will not visit again!

Loud (VERY LOUD) private party outside our room until 11:30 at night. Shower door only covers half the opening (why bother?)Indoor and outdoor pools with 4 "jacuzzis" but they are all cold. Poolside bar with several staff members doing something but they said the bar was closed.Person handing out beach towel said server would come by but none ever did.Had to go to main lobby bar (in swim trunks) well over 100 yards away. Awkward!Cute balcony, but you get locked out. "We inform you that the balcony doors, for your safety, can not be opened from the outside. We therefore invite you to take the utmost care not to close them completely from the outside, to avoid to be locked out on the balcony."Of course this information is not on a sign next to the balcony door, but on an iPad, at least six clicks in. WTF?

Excellent property. 4th time at a zacchera property and the service is always exceptional. It’s a family owned property and there is always a family member that seems to be on location overseeing each property. The team strives to perfect this hotel more every year. No detail is forgotten. The front desk staff Pamela, Laura, Kate and one of the owners Gabriella are exceptionally kind, professional and on top of everything. The pool bar staff Naomi and Francesco are excellent. I am and will be a repeat Zacchera property traveler whether is Dino, Simplon or one of their other properties. I always feel at peace, happy and safe at their luxurious properties. Perfect for upscale family travels.

Exceptional hotel

Absolutely recommendable! We stayed with a group of 20 persons for 2 nights and everybody was super happy with the hotel and its services. The COOs themselves showed me around and the technician was there on point before we started our meeting. Food and beverage service was also extraordinary. In case of any question or need for help, we are attended to immediately.
