This exclusive hotel occupies a 17th century palace, which features countless frescoes and paintings. Centrally located in the historical part of the old town of Siena, restaurants and small shops are situated in the immediate vicinity. San Gimignano is approximately 40 km away and Florence is 65 km from the hotel. Links to the public transport network lie about 300 m away.

The hotel has 51 rooms, which are located on 3 storeys and are reachable by 2 lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions.     As expected the hotel is quality. Location excellent and service pretty good. In terms of our expectations based on price, we are a little disappointed. Here are the main points of our critique……..1. Shower needs upgrading 2. Bed is a little hard to say the least including pillows. 3. TV is way too small and distinct lack of English speaking channels. 4. Breakfast……Very average indeed and a complete of service. 10 minutes waiting for coffee, which was weak and undrinkable. Food quality is ok but below standard for this property. Siena is lovely and we had a great time, just slightly underwhelmed with the Grand Continental.

    Lovely room with a terrific view over the rooftops of Siena, all of the staff very friendly, keen to help and seem to enjoy their jobs. Only small criticism would be breakfast…If you want an omelette or pancake there’s an extra charge which is a bit petty and should be included, also the one toaster had seen better days !!!     Beautiful hotel with great location in Siena

    4.5 rating in our book! Beautiful hotel and room with terrace/terrific views. Fantastic location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I rented a car in Siena, and they were very helpful giving me instruction on where to park. I was a bit nervous, but all turned out well. My only disappointment was the food in the bar area. We did not want to eat a big meal, so chose to eat in the hotel (bar menu). The first time, it was OK. The last evening, I could not eat the burger.Otherwise, I would definitely stay there again and will recommend to my friends and colleagues. Splurge and get the terrace!     Beautiful with one the best breakfast we have ever had!

    The GH Continental is well known to be the best hotel in Siena and this is absolutely true! First: the location, really excellent! Secondly the atmosphère of the whole building, really magnificent! You really have the impression of being in the renaissance years! The room was Classic but confortable and our Little balcony had the picture perfect view on the duomo and the roofs of Siena. We had dinner at their cafe and it was nice. The staff were excellent, with special note for the reception team. Last but not least: the breakfast…maybe one of the best we have ever had in a hotel: despite the limited spaces (breakfast is served in the beautiful roomsOf the Sapordivino restaurant) it was really abundant in quantity and quality. Best way to start the day and enjoy the visit of Siena!
