This resort looks far better in pictures than in person. It is listed as a four star resort but it is not. It is may not even be a three star resort. However, the resort charges four star prices that do not match the guest experience. There are hotels you enjoy, and then there are places that become part of the journey itself. Hotel Borgo San Luigi was exactly that for us.From the moment we arrived, the beautiful historic buildings, gardens, pool and peaceful surroundings gave us that wonderful Tuscan feeling we had hoped for. Some staff attitude is unpleasant

Our stay was disappointing because of the attitude of the staff.On our very first evening, we wanted to make a reservation at the hotel’s restaurant for the second night of our stay. The receptionist kept telling us, “Don’t rush, there’s no need to book now,” “maybe you want to think about it” even though we clearly said we wanted to reserve a table. We absolutely adored our stay at Borgo San Luigi. You arrive by a treelined avenue, reception staff were friendly and welcoming, bags are taken to your room, the car is valet parked and you are shown around. We had breakfast and dinner there everynight and the food and service were fabulous. I can still remember the wonderful white chocolate mousse desert - superb. This is a lovely place in the middle of the Tuscan countryside. We had a car and we felt that this was centrally located to visit many of the small towns.
