The splendid Piazza Duomo affords a very special view of Sasso Barisano, and the hotel is situated here, in the heart of ancient Civita, in a unique position on the spur which divides the 2 Sassi. Thanks to its convenient central location, all the main historical and cultural places of interest, museums, squares and monuments can easily be reached on foot, as can the boutiques, craft shops and restaurants in the city centre.

The resort has 6 junior suites, 5 suites and 20 double rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. I had the most wonderful and relaxing massage with Greta, and I honestly couldn’t recommend her enough. She was absolutely lovely, incredibly professional, and this was by far one of the best massages I’ve ever had.She explained everything in detail and took such great care of me throughout the entire treatment. We stayed one night at Palazzo Gattini, and overall it was a memorable experience. The hotel’s location is exceptional, right in the heart of Matera, making it the perfect base for exploring the Sassi.We parked at the designated lot and were picked up by the hotel’s shuttle service.
