We stayed here for two nights as part of a VBT bike tour of Tuscany. There is much to like about this property. The location is excellent. As are a number of the amenities.But we encountered a fair amount of weirdness. I am not sure they have their act together from a purely operational standpoint. Clearly not a 5 stars hotel, not worth the price.We stayed at Tombolo talasso for a week and we're disappointed in many aspects, especially after spending 4 days at Adler Spa which is another 5 stars hotel, in the same price range, in the same region, and is much better.First thing to know, Tombolo talasso allows dogs, which means you can expect to heard dogs barking at any time. Completely lacks charm, mediocre breakfast with runny eggs. I had stayed here 14 years ago as part of a bike tour and the AC didn't work. Well, 14 years later it still doesn't work. Room never got below 23.8 degrees despite multiple requests and assurances. Then when I asked at checkout to wipe off my 35 euros of incidentals as compensation, they were having none of it. This hotel was booked for our last two nights to relax. When we got there it was taken over by an Italian work party. They took all of the beach seats. And stood outside rooms smoking until 3am. No air con and they made noise through the corridors until 4am. We complained the next day and the manager smirked and said we were lying! Everything about this place was amazing - amazing location, rooms, spa, restaurant and bar and service in general. Just steps off the beach, this special resort and spa is truly unique.
