It is a incredible hotel. The staff is really but really helpful. When I had a problem they helped me really quickly. I 100% recommend that hotel and I will for sure go back.

My family and I spent Christmas in Italy and stayed five nights at this absolutely wonderful hotel.The location: 10 out of 5 stars – it simply doesn’t get any better in Livorno. A breathtaking view over the terrace and the sea from the beautiful rooftop terrace.The room: A very beautiful room with stylish marble décor. It was spotlessly clean, and the bed was wonderfully large and comfortable.Breakfast: The breakfast was a lavish buffet with both Italian and continental options. There was a great selection for those looking for lighter choices as well as more indulgent ones.The staff: I often feel that the number of stars a hotel has does not always reflect the staff’s attitude and level of hospitality. That was certainly proven wrong here. From the warm welcome at reception, to the help in converting a double bed into two single beds for our children, and absolutely – last but not least – the truly amazing breakfast staff. I would especially like to highlight Nadia, who was very professional and at the same time brought a genuinely warm and heartfelt approach to her work. Her service was outstanding.I celebrated my birthday during our stay, and without any prompting, birthday cake and prosecco were served at breakfast. I will never forget that.All in all: An absolutely fantastic hotel, an outstanding location, and exceptional staff.Does the hotel need a little tender loving care in some areas? Yes.Does it affect the overall impression and the stay? No.My very best recommendations for this hotel.

What can I say? Quality in every moment and every touch in this hotel. From the welcome all the way to the spa, the concierge, the room itself is incredible, I am so glad I booked this hotel and I will come back again and again. Compliments to the staff and to the management of this beautiful property. I highly recommend this property.

The WORST 5-star hotel I've ever stayed!!

I went to stay in this hotel with my family during July 9 - 11, 2025, and we found this was the most terrible experience in our life. The ONLY 1 good thing about the hotel is the nice view of the sea. No other good thing I can think of.Here is the summary of my experience- Terrible check-in speed of the night shift staff. We checked in 9 rooms and it toom them for around 1 hour to finish, with a lot of mistake with room assignments. That female staff was also very rude to us.- The air conditioning in my mom's suite room was out of order. She had to move to stay with my sister in another room. We complained and they were never able to fix it!! The worst thing is they DID NOT give us the refund!! They said we had to get it from Booking.com, which later on told us that it was hotel decision to return the money or not. - The bed was the lowest quality. Cheap spring material inside. I had to support my back with towels.- The towels were extremely old, and rough. Zero softness.- They provided us with disposable plastic cups in the room, considering very room rate, this is really pathetic.- Even worse, I found an insect “the silver fish” in the towel. Not only me, my sister’s and my brother’s rooms too.- They provided us only 2 rolls of tissue paper for the whole stay.- NO water bottle provided for the whole stay!!! Can you believe that??? They said they will give us 1 bottle per room when we check out. …… I was totally speechless....- Very slow speed WIFI in the room. I was so slow that I changed to buy mobile data and paid for it. - I put the “do not disturb” sign on the door knob, but found out when I returned to my room that the house keeping ignored it and entered my room anyway. I complained to the front desk and they just said sorry. That’s it. - We happened to meet the owner of the hotel and we told him everything we found included his rude staff. He just listened, gave us some excuses, and left. Zero compensation!!- The rudest front staff is Mart** Kay* She was in the night shift…stayed in the staff room behind the counter. My sister went there to ask for help, she heard my sister voice but ignored. My sister tried to look for someone behind the counter and entered the area by only 1 step, but she suddenly raised her voice and said “If you enter in this room, I’ll call the police!”” OMGGG, why on earth she said this?? Did she forget it was her job to service the guest??? My last point for this trashy hotel for everyone is…..PLEASE STAY AWAY!!

NOT a 5 star hotel, except for price.

Spent a night with wife . The hotel has a long history (1884) but it looks tired and clearly not a 5 star hotel. Rooms are decently large, but with scuffed and old furniture. An espresso style coffee maker is in the room, but no pods. Bathtub style shower has good pressure . WiFi was poor. We had a great seaside view from our room.Service was uninspiring overall. The price was twice that of 4 star hotels. Not worth it except for the history of this building.Parking on premises is helpful.
