Portovenere is a beautiful town. The hotel is not really "5 star" but it was fine and accomodations clean. The restaurant was good for breakfast and dinner. Hotel is somewhat dated. Agree with others - no car is really needed here. We had one minor issue of our room not being serviced or resupplied with toiletries. It took a bit of time to get it resolved but it did. What a location! A beautiful hotel with the most pleasant and helpful staff. A great place to enjoy the Cinque Terre, while being away from the madness of mass tourism.
