  Shows for KIDS starting at 22:00 ...bit late

  we went end of august, which makes a difference i think because it was very quiet - not many people around so always space by the pools for as many deckchairs as you wished and at any time of the day. Maybe it was different if we had gone early August.Pros:- the views are stunning and the terrace for an aperol is lovely- breakfast is gr8 if you like to fill your own croissants with cream/Nutella/jam/pistachio and they have savoury stuff too. and yoghurts and hams, fruit, etc. Coffee is very good. We did the 10GBP breakfast and felt it was worth it if you eat a lot like us to keep you going until mid-afternoon.- 3 pools- restaurant onsite: we did pizza and a salad (neither were good/tasty and they were pricey ... but it was onsite so easy to access)- activities: some for everyone. we played games, did aqua gym, went to the evening shows and the kids sessions.Cons:- the gym is dreadful if you go hoping to do cardio. nothing works. If you know how to use weights, then it's fine. Bench-press, barbells, etc. But it's difficult for the average gym-goer to know how to use these things without hurting themselves so i think they should make it accessible to all and add some working cardio (treadmill, rowing machine, cross trainer, bike). They have plenty of space!- bugs in the pools all the time. They don't keep them clean.- the shows start at 22:00...for kids! This might be OK for italian kids, but not the average child that is exhausted by 9pm.- breakfast is not replenished fast enough. Day 1 eggs finished and so did bacon. Regular cleaning and maintenance are carried out several times a day, but we are aware that in a natural environment insects can sometimes reappear quickly. That said, your experience shows us that our efforts were not sufficient, and we will strengthen both the frequency of checks and the presence of staff dedicated to ensuring that water quality and cleanliness are always at their best.We appreciate your note about the evening shows starting late for children; we understand that this may not suit all families and will take it into account when planning our programmes.   What a beautiful place! My family and I have just returned from a wonderful week at Pian Dei Mucini and we loved every second of it. The location is stunning- I miss the pretty views from the apartment balcony so much! All the staff are so friendly and welcoming- the reception team, the restaurant staff and the entertainment team, who do a fabulous job with the children and organising the after dinner show. The pool area is an ideal size and there are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas for the guests without it feeling too busy. We ate at the a la carte restaurant nearly every night as there was just so much choice on the menu - authentic Tuscan antipasti, pizzas, pastas, meat dishes, steaks….. not to mention the deserts and the local wines! I can definitely recommend this resort and hope to return in the future.   It lies on the edge of the Tuscan forest. With a view of a picturesque valley, Massa Marittima can be seen on the opposite hilltop. We stayed at the Palazzo Vittoria, it was perfect. We had dinner three times at Pian dei Mucini's Pizzeria. The appetizers and roast meats (grilled on the terrace by a professional) were impeccably good, but the desserts were also excellent. On all three evenings, a lady singer with a very good voice provided the live music. The service was friendly and attentive. We had a really great experience.   We spent a wonderful week from June 29th to early July. Despite some rainy days, which we used to explore the beauties of Tuscany (including Pisa and the Palio), the stay at the resort was truly enjoyable. The food was good, the apartment was clean, and we chose one of the villas by the pool. Speaking of which, the pools were beautiful, both the larger one and the smaller one, surrounded by characteristic Tuscan cypress trees. There were pleasant activities during the day for both adults and children, and beautiful shows in the evening. We could suggest a few more umbrellas, as on sunny days they were all taken, but overall, excellent value for money.   The setting of this resort amid the authentic Tuscany countryside is simply breathtaking. Magnificent location – close to the historic little town of Massa Marittima and the beautiful beach of Torra Mozza – this exceptionally maintained property offers accommodations that are simple, yet comfortable and clean, plus leisure facilities that are second to none. And you are truly made welcome by staff throughout the resort – especially at the reception : Maria, Leticia, Jasmine and Francesca… not to mention the friendly lifeguards, the hard-working maids and groundskeepers, including the proud manager with her lovely dog walking the domain morning till evening, making sure everything is perfect.
