What a lovely hotel!

As it turned out, because of an issue with our room, we ended up staying in both the Nuvole Residenza and the main hotel - both are really lovely in their different ways. Beautiful renovated palazzo, but the hotel sits deep in Genoa’s historic center, fully surrounded by narrow, dark alleys that can feel uncomfortable at night. Getting there from the parking garage requires walking through these alleys with your luggage, with groups regularly loitering. A lovely hotel but our room was broken into and riffled through whilst we were out at dinner. Stunning building in the heart of Genoa , close to all of the sights and many restaurants and cafes. Really friendly helpful staff.Room was well decorated and clean. We ate at the hotels Bar Gilda one night- Fantastic food (small plates) really good cocktails and a delicious tiramisu! This is an historic building respectfully converted/adapted to be a hotel. It’s in a protected section of Genoa, meaning taxis have to let you out about a block’s walk away. There are also steps involved getting into the hotel itself as well as to the elevator. It’s not really a big deal except that we had some heavy luggage to contend with.
