    Location good, otherwise just poor.

Unfortunately I can't recommend this hotel. Staff wasn't really helpful. Lot of renovation ongoing with wires hangong from stairway roof, old and worn out and AC in room didn't work. Worst part was that walls are super thin. You can hear what people are talking, when somebody walks in hallway it sounds like they're in your room etc. 2/5 comes from location which is very good in Ferrara. This hotel needs to change and update a lot to be a place to go to.

The hotel was ok, but Thomas cook SOTC placed us very far off from sightseeing places, Thomas cook doesn’t think much for tourists, they think for their profits nor thinks for countries boosting for tourism, Even if the hotels are good they should give priority of visiting the country rather making us sit in coaches, that also no WiFi , toilets can’t be used during our long tours distance. We would recommend never to use services of SOTC THOMAS COOK ,as they are manipulators

    Grand Hotel in Italy

    rating08 Oct 2024

Finally found a little luxurious hotel in Europe in Budget. The rooms are spacious and furnished well. Lobby is good. Only problem is there is a single lift. If there is a group, then it is certainly a problem. Overall, the place is good in a central place with good breakfast. Nicola Scolamacchia, Proprietario at AstrA Hotel, responded to this review Dear Akadas, thank you for your kind review. We renewed all the hotel in last 3 year, from lobby to rooms...so we're really happy that you appreciate It. Please note that we have 2 lifts, in order to grant to all the guest the tight comfort.

    Very good location, poor service

We spent in this hotel only one night. The hotel is nice and the receptionists were very friendly. But unfortunately, when we came with our group, one triple room wasn't ready for check-in, so we needed to wait until our room will be cleaned. So it was 3 p.m. and we came from the airport after the 4-hours flight. The breakfast was OK (nobody waits for an excellent breakfast from the Italian hotels), but the coffee machine didn't work and the bar attendant had to prepare it for each of us. The hotel location is very good, a 3-minute walk to the main sight- the castle, some small shops around. But I recommend walking a little bit more to find more interesting cafes or restaurants.

Astra Hotel is not far from the train station and very close to the castle and the center of the town. Lobby and bar area were nicely decorated. The size of the twin room and bathroom were surprisingly big. All pleasant and clean. Breakfast was very good. I wish we had more days to spend in Ferrara, but it was just a day as a part of a trip to the north. We would definitely visit Ferrara again and would choose Astra hotel. Nicola Scolamacchia, Proprietario at AstrA Hotel, responded to this review Dear Inna, thank you so much for your kind review! I'm really happy that you like our new rooms, lobby and bar, totaly renewed just some moths ago.And...yes, one day is not enough to see Ferrara....so...we're waiting for your next trip in Ferrara!
