We were somewhat disappointed with our stay at this property. There were good reviews on it so that’s why we chose it. It’s a historical property in a great location. The location is the “plus”. Close to the cruise terminal and I believe that’s where many of their guests utilizing the hotel are destined. The property is very dated. It was clean but cleanliness only gives it so many points. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights prior to our western Mediterranean cruise. It is a nice hotel with comfortable rooms and an amble space for breakfast which has a variety of hot/cold items. Hotel itself is pleasant & Civitavecchia is OK for 1-2 nights before or after a cruise. Hotel faces the sea which has & paved beach front walkway with restaurants & bars & is an easy 5-10 minute walk from the train station & 5-10 minute taxi ride to the Cruise Port. We love this hotel as this is our second visit for an overnight stay before a cruise.The hotel dates back to the 1800s and we like the decor.
