Disappointing
Some positives - large balcony with great views over the sea. A short walk into the centre of Tropea. Good breakfast and the meal we had in the evening was pleasant. However, the decor needs bringing into the 21st Century. Very old fashioned. No plugs in the sink or bidet. Rough towels, one pillow each. The staff explained nothing - like how to order dinner. Wonderful, family-run hotel overlooking the sea
I have just spent a wonderful week at this excellent family-run hotel. Ottavio, Maria and their children and staff are all lovely people. It felt like staying with family (the ones you get on well with!) and the service was brilliant - so kind and helpful. Charles was a perfect host. The incredible view from the terrace was a treat any time of the day, and particularly at breakfast, with a choice of eggs or sweet pastry. Charles was also helpful in getting us a taxi. Town center was a 10-15 minute walk along the streets all with views. Amazed with this hotel and will be surely coming back in the future.Our room had a sea view, you could even see Stromboli volcano. Spectacular sunsets.Accessing the beach might be tricky for eldery or young children as you need to walk very steep stairs.
