The main square, Piazza Maggiore, is just a 10-minute walk from the hotel, Due Torri and the theatre are 15 minutes away on foot, and the Medieval Museum and cathedral are just 2 minutes' walk away. The stunning city of Bologna has a beautiful Old Town featuring long rows of porticoes and it has the oldest university in Europe. What an absolutely stunning hotel! Everything about the experience was wonderful. I am disabled and the staff was so helpful to us. We had lost a cushion for the wheelchair and they found one for us to use during our trip. I don’t think I would’ve been able to use the wheelchair without it. We are not fussy people and have traveled extensively. With that in mind, we arrived in Bologna to a well reviewed boutique hotel and quickly discovered that it did not live up to the photos, reviews or price. We found the Grand Majestic, made the switch, and they welcomed us with open arms for a mere 100 euros more per night.
