  Great Hotel in the heart of Letterkenny

  Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel is in the centre of Letterkenny with free parking. Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were very friendly. I would recommend this hotel

  To say im shocked and very upset would be an understatement the worst part is I would of frequented the hotel quite alot a few years back i decided to extend my stay in Letterkenny and rang the hotel for tomorrow night everything was perfect the man on reception was checking me in and once I had asked if the windows were fitted with a locking system because my son has autisim i was told he couldn't book me in and call back which I did to then be told that there is a €200 deposit of every room booked which i said fine to bear in mind my child is 7 years old so not exactly a room thrashing monster to then be told that my debit card from my bank cant be used and if I dont have a credit card we cannot stay so I spud look ill book through booking .com and they can take the deposit but again it was a no that I would need a credit card in person apparently from looking online this policy is only upheld on the whim of the staff so much for asd friendly if u have a child with additional needs they do not want you to stay Travel822242, at McGettigan's Hotel, responded to this review Dear ReviewerWe must respectfully dispute the claims made in this review. The suggestion that a booking was refused on that basis is false.Our security deposit is a standard procedure for bookings and is not applied at the discretion of individual staff members based on personal circumstances. We take both guest welfare and hotel policy seriously. The security deposit policy is unrelated to any request made regarding room features or a guest’s personal circumstances. We reject any implication that guests with additional needs are unwelcome.   The rooms were very comfortable and everything that you would need the adjoining warehouse bar serves excellent food.

  The hotel is very central to everything in the town parking is available. Check in was super easy with very pleasant staff. We had a 2 night stay over with a free bottle of processo which was great value.   Beautiful hotel. Stayed 2 nights, got a great deal which included dinner in the bar next door which was first class. Staff were very helpful, rooms immaculate and breakfast each morning was delicious. 5 star experience all round.Have booked again for our next weekend away.   The room was so cold and the heating didn’t work just made a loud annoying noise all night , heard the guests next door snoring all night paper thin walls Michael, at McGettigan's Hotel, responded to this review Dear CharleneThank you for your feedback. We are disappointed to read your review, we are very sorry to hear that your stay was affected by the room temperature, the noise from the heating, and the sound travelling from the room next door. This is certainly not the standard of comfort we aim to provide for our guests. We have management available at all times to assist with any issues. Had we been made aware of the problems with heating, we would have been happy to move you to an alternative room. Please accept our sincere apologies for the disturbance and poor night’s sleep you experienced.
