  Warm visit and warm rooms

  We visited during unexpected very warm weather and with no air conditioning in the hotel our room was warm. We changed rooms to one on the backside of the building so we could open the windows but it was still difficult to get air ventilation. The evening air did eventually cool down but it took hours.   New beginnings for this place signal success

  Susan and I embarked on a driving tour of southern Iceland during March of this year and our tour company book this hotel for us. It has a new name The Vestureland Hotel and it’s under new management.   We stayed in the most expensive suite and it was quite shabby. Curtains falling off rails, sofa stained, no internet and hadn't been in a long time, we had two large TVs that didn't work, the phone in the room did not work and it was not possible to call the reception.   The reservation was canceled without any reasonable explanation, vacation was ruined.   We occupied a spacious top-floor room with a balcony and a delightful view. The young lady at the front desk, hailing from Poland, was truly hospitable; however, this was the extent of our positive experience.
