Staff was great, very responsive to our requests. The room was very nice and spacious. Love the fact that they call you for the aurora- which was amazing. The day we arrived was a big snow storm (early April) so the view was great, but we didn't get to enjoy the grounds. Good location near Borgarnes, but not right in the town.Coincidentally- outside our room was a big meeting spot for watching the… Staff was great, very responsive to our requests. Had to book the hotel last minute due to a snow storm and road closures (orange level storm!) and we were so pleasantly surprised and happy with it! We wished we could stay longer and hope to one day come back. We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Hamar.The customer service was exceptional — especially from Tyna at reception. The hotel was on a golf course during winter season so I didn’t expect a lot going on. When we checked in, the hotel asked us about breakfast and encouraged us to register now. We declined but they said we could change our mind in the morning. They then asked if we wanted a “wake-up” call if northern lights came out. We said yes!
