Excellent Service, Breathtaking Views & Wonderful Breakfast!

    rating30 Oct 2025

One of the most beautiful hotel that have stayed in. Love it for the hospitality and views are breathtaking especially the sea+sunrise. Receptionists were very helpful+friendly - they knocked on our door to let us know the aurora sighting as was awaiting it. Recommend to stay 2 nights or more as our 1 night was too short. Breakfast was lovely+wide spread & night having an Iceland beer was great! Thank you so much for the experience & warm welcome!

    Lovely hotel, beautiful views

    rating10 Oct 2025

The hotel is in a remote but beautiful part of iceland. We had views of the glacier right outside our window. Some rooms and the restaurant had vast ocean views. This is a lovely hotel with European charm. The staff was the friendliest we came across in Iceland. The hotel and rooms are very clean and well maintained. This was the only hotel we stayed in where shampoo and conditioner were not provided, so be prepared. The rooms are small but not unusually so for Europe. Food (i.e., breakfast) was not included and the restaurant was expensive - but the food was good and there aren’t many other restaurant options in that area. A Warm & Cosy Hotel with Great Views

    rating04 Oct 2025

Fosshotel Hellnar is a beautifully located property with a lovely lobby and a reception desk that makes you feel welcome from the moment you enter the hotel. Indeed, all the staff that we encountered were warm and friendly, and efficient too. We were able to take our car all the way to our room which was convenient. The room had everything one would expect, was cosy and we had a restful night. The menu is a tad expensive but we enjoyed our only meal (dinner) and the sumptuous breakfast before we left. We were very happy and will have fond memories of this property. Great stay!

Great hotel with views overlooking the ocean. There is a 2.5 kilometer oceanside trail right out front. The lobby is great for relaxing and reading and there is a great restaurant conveniently attached. I would stay here again. Awesome home base for Snaefellsness.

    rating29 Sept 2025

We were lucky enough to have the hotels best room which has a balcony. It was a bit too chilly to hang out there much but the ocean view from the seating area inside was just spectacular. The Northern Lights that showed up our first night were more of the same. It was a great place from which to explore the Snaefellsness Penninsula for two days which is a very special place. My husband left Iceland knowing he would dream about the seafood soup from their restaurant. The team there were all super friendly and seemed like they loved being there. Hope to visit again for a longer stay. Fosshótel Hellnar, Guest Services / Front Office at Fosshotel Hellnar, responded to this review Dear Tina,Thank you for your kind words and for sharing those amazing pictures! We’re glad you had a memorable stay and hope to welcome you back in the future. :)Kind regards,The Fosshotel Team
