    Warm visit and warm rooms

    rating24 May 2025

We visited during unexpected very warm weather and with no air conditioning in the hotel our room was warm. We changed rooms to one on the backside of the building so we could open the windows but it was still difficult to get air ventilation. The evening air did eventually cool down but it took hours. Everything else was fine.

New beginnings for this place signal success

    rating27 Mar 2024

Susan and I embarked on a driving tour of southern Iceland during March of this year and our tour company book this hotel for us. It has a new name The Vestureland Hotel and it’s under new management. The new Manager happens to be a award winning chef and he and his wife made sure we ate great food while there, the whole staff was extremely accommodating and our room was probably the best we had on our whole trip. I would definitely recommend if your in this area and need to stay this would be my go to hotel. I think their going to do well in the future despite whatever this place was like in the past. Bravo Vesterland! Jud Martindale

    Recommend finding another hotel

    rating16 Nov 2023

We stayed in the most expensive suite and it was quite shabby. Curtains falling off rails, sofa stained, no internet and hadn't been in a long time, we had two large TVs that didn't work, the phone in the room did not work and it was not possible to call the reception. There is nothing warm or cozy about this suite and I was glad to go home

I will avoid this hotel in future

    rating31 Oct 2023

The reservation was canceled without any reasonable explanation, vacation was ruined. We asked for elaboration, but it did not make any sense. My personal advice is to avoid this hotel in the future.

Suggest exploring alternative accommodations in the vicinity!

    rating29 Sept 2023

We occupied a spacious top-floor room with a balcony and a delightful view. The young lady at the front desk, hailing from Poland, was truly hospitable; however, this was the extent of our positive experience. The hotel building seemed to have some underlying issues, evidenced by constant, mysterious ticking noises that persistently disrupted our sleep during the night. The dining hall appeared to be partially functional, with three different front desks, but only one was operational. During breakfast, I spotted a grand and impressive Espresso machine and inquired about a cappuccino. To my disappointment, I was informed that the Espresso machine was exclusively for staff use. Instead, I was directed to a cheap, one-click automated coffee maker with a "cappuccino" option.Such behavior from the hotel management is not only discourteous but also a glaring example of poor customer service. I earnestly urge prospective guests reading this review to explore alternative accommodation options when planning a stay in Borgarnes.
