In one of Iceland's most breathtaking natural settings, near Thingvellir National Park, just 30 minutes from Reykjavik, the hotel is beautifully situated on the slopes of Mt. Hengill. There are great views over Lake Thingvallavatn and the mountains surrounding the lake.

The hotel has a lift and features 22 double rooms. English- and German-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. Very nice hotel with excellent service and great super friendly staff! Great value for money. We enjoyed the spa so much! The pool is fantastic and relaxation zone as well. This is such an incredible hotel in the most amazing location. Yes it's remote, but that's a great part of the hotel. The view is stunning, the hotel and pool is gorgeous and such a nice design. The team are all really friendly and welcoming. The restaurant and bar is great, they were even happy accommodate both vegan and nut allergy in the restaurant with a delicious meal and dessert. A memorable stay at the Ion Adventure Hotel!

We had a lovely stay at the Ion Adventure Hotel (October 2025). We stayed for two nights during a snowstorm and it was stylish yet cozy with the most beautiful views. The bed was especially comfy! We particularly loved the outdoor geothermic pool and were lucky enough to witness the most beautiful aurora display for hours whilst relaxing in the pool. Loved this hotel. Gorgeous room, beautiful Icelandic landscape around, amazingly comfortable bed, loved the hot spring pool (though other guests could be reminded about showering before entering!)
