The location of this hotel is very inconvenient. It takes about 1.5 hours to get there from the airport, and there is very little to do in the immediate area. To reach the right part of Guatemala City, you still need another 10 minutes by taxi.Upon arrival, the staff was not very helpful. After a long journey, we arrived with only euros because the website stated that currency exchange would be available. For safety reasons, we wanted to exchange money at the hotel, but this was refused without any attempt to think along or offer alternatives. At that time, all banks and exchange offices nearby were already closed.This left us in a difficult situation, and we eventually had to go through a lot of trouble to arrange payment, including waking people up to help us get access to a credit card.Overall, we found the service insufficient and the communication unhelpful, especially after a long trip. Additionally, for the convenience of our guests, we offer complimentary scheduled transportation, with prior reservation, to some of the city’s safest and most emblematic shopping centers.Regarding currency exchange, because Guatemala is not part of the European Union, the Euro is not considered an official circulating currency in the country, making local exchange processes more limited and complex. Based on the regulations established by the Bank of Guatemala under the Foreign Currency Free Negotiation Law, currency exchange operations are handled through authorized banks and exchange institutions. For this reason, our hotel offers multiple payment alternatives, including American Express, Visa, and MasterCard, as well as U.S. Dollar exchange services, which is the primary foreign currency commonly used by local banks. Nevertheless, we sincerely regret the inconvenience and stress this situation caused after your long journey. We stayed at the Hilton in Guatemala, and while it’s a cute hotel with some charm, it’s definitely due for some touch ups.The overall vibe of the property is nice, and the layout is cozy with a classic feel. The staff were polite and welcoming, and we appreciated the general atmosphere. However, it’s clear that certain areas are showing their age—from worn-out furniture to small details that just felt outdated.The room was decent, but again, you can tell the hotel is overdue for renovations to bring it up to the standard you’d expect from a Hilton. It didn’t ruin our trip by any means—we had an okay stay overall—but I wouldn’t rush back unless I knew improvements had been made.Still, if you’re looking for a quiet spot with decent service, it’s not a bad option. Not bad not great. Room spacious but little dated. Executive lounge is oke and breakfast was good. Location was little ride from city center. The pool was really really cold and not possible to swim since the tarp was over to cover. Diamond member got room upgrade

Location was awful, nothing interesting nearby. Getting from zona 10 to hotel (approx 5-8 miles) took two hours. Upon arrival, TV didn't work. Two hours later was fixed. Bathroom tiles chipped, with some mold. Tub enamel was also chipped. Shower head corroded. Standing water on floor under bathroom sink. Fortunately, we only stayed overnight, leaving early the next morning. One positive, decent food in restaurant.
