Nice hotel at the heart of Thessaloniki

Nice hotel located near the Arch of Galerius (also known today as “Kamara”), one of the most important Roman monuments of Thessaloniki. I was assigned a room with a beautiful view of Ano Poli. The rooms are not particularly spacious, and the washrooms are fairly small. The staff, especially Giorgios Doumanis (front desk) and Yannis Baxevanidis (restaurant), were friendly and accommodating. Good enough - not great

The pictures on-line do not do justice to the place and not in a good way. The hotel was definitely older and not as current as one may be lead to believe by looking at the pictures that are available on-line. That being said, functionally solid, location is superior, though surrounded by busy streets on 3 sides, good breakfast, luggage storage, comfortable beds, good A/C, ample hot water. No park… The pictures on-line do not do justice to the place and not in a good way.
