This is our second time visiting the hotel and again we had a lovely holiday. Makis is very friendly and accommodating and adored our little 3 year old boy. He would go out of his way to say hello to him in the morning and even bought him some teddies and a race car. This is the second time that we have visited the Athena Hotel and can honestly say it was as good as the first time! Makis the owner is second to none and will go out of his way to ensure that you have a wonderful time. He will take care of anything you ask of him and is so sincere and genuine. Great hotel, location good for a walk into Sami. Fantastic staff and Makis will fix it. Good value, basic hotel - the owner goes the extra mile

To manage expectations - the rooms at this hotel are pretty basic - but...They are clean & provide everything you need. We were not happy with our first room, (balcony) but Makis managed to accommodate us in a different room with a proper balcony and sea/mountain views. The hotel is very informal/relaxed (which we like), A/C was necessary & worked well - no extra cost.
