4 night stay in Intercity. It worked out ok for us as we were doing day trips out of town by train. Easy to get tram into town at night for great restaurant choices.No room servicing unless you ask so we were very surprised when, on the last full day there, housekeeping had been in and cleaned. We had left our stuff all over the room so felt annoyed about that. Lesson learned - put out the do not disturb on the door handle!The room itself was ok. Pillow too soft and not enough to get comfortable on. Towels very thin and not very big. I used the inferior hair dryer to air dry myself.I was glad I’d brought my own Travelodge hairdryer with me.They asked us if we wanted breakfast, but the answer was a definite “NO” as it would be 21 euros. A short walk to a nice big Edeka supermarket.This hotel is good value for money compared with a lot of other places. Well what a chap that bald guy was at reception. Barely a word spoken. RUDE!Morning receptionist very sweet.Hotel OK. Excellent location next to bahnhof. Just as well really because its very basic. Stayed there in 2005. Looks the same. Crumbs on carpet. Haphazard vaccumming l guess . Oh well. Onwards to better things! The hotel is ideally situated immediately by the main train station and next to the center of old part of town. The windows are allow no noise to enter the room. The personal were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet above standard, Definitely a hotel to be recommended. Overall an OK hotel. Directly at the Freiburg main station. Good noise insulation with closed windows but can be noisy when window is open. Does have AC, so you can keep windows closed. Room is standard Intercity Hotel style, clean but feels slightly dated. Very near to the train station which is very practical. Staff very nice and welcoming. Quiet although near the station as the windows are well insonorised.Check in and out very easy. Nice and quiet entrance lounge.
